Healing Hands doing somatic body work BIPOC

HOW WE WORK

Each session is as unique as you and your nervous system. I make use of my vast tools based on your needs on that day. When working with the body and nervous system, it’s best to plan for at least 4-5 sessions to begin with.

Where?

1-1 Work is offered in-person in Lisbon, Portugal or as virtual video sessions on Zoom. I facilitate virtual touch techniques as learned in the Tao of Trauma training.

A Note For First Time Clients:

Please consider booking a discovery call first to get to know each other and I can help you decide which session is the most appropriate for you and your story.

Importance of Self-Practice

Somatic, breathwork and nervous system work is not magic, it’s an ACTIVE PROCESS, meaning I do my part by holding space and using my tools get to know your body and teaching you what you need. But to achieve consistent results, you’re also invited to do your part and commit to consistent practice outside of the sessions. Simple exercises or homework will be given to practice between sessions to support and build on the work we do together.

Also healing is not a solo journey - it’s deeper and more meaningful when shared as a community. I practice community support by offering sliding scale payment for Global South Bodies and Bodies of culture who are students or currently experiencing financial hardship and want to work with me. Somatic grief process & Integration

VIRTUAL (Zoom) or IN-PERSON (Lisbon)

2:00 Hrs | € 150 (23% Portuguese VAT included)

One of the definition of trauma is: Too much , too fast without adequate care. And the place where this too much, too fast is happening is in our body, our nervous system.

Grieving is a natural gift of human nature when we have reached adulthood most of us have had great cause to grieve for lost loved ones, broken dreams, ended careers, relationships, parents we dreamed to have, a body size….

Restoring the balance in our nervous systems

VIRTUAL (Zoom) or IN-PERSON (Lisbon)

1:30 Hrs | €150 (23% Portuguese VAT included)

There is an “S” to nervous system, which means for me that we might have one biological nervous system but we live in many more nervous systems. These sessions bring clarity on not only our biological nervous system but also on others nervous systems that influence our biological nervous system. Restoration of balance can never happen if we are not aware of where all our triggers might be coming from. We will develop various tools that are specifically adapted to you, your story and your culture for you to be able to befriend and widen your capacity and bring back harmony when disharmony appears.

About Tobi

Born and raised in Benin, movement and displacement have been an integral part of her life and define her entire identity. Having grown up in the West African sub-region and also lived in North Africa, notably in Tunisia, she has experienced in her flesh the countless ethnic, inter-religious, and social divisions that are deeply rooted in the colonial trauma that the continent has experienced.

Based today Portugal after having lived in Germany, she is a somatic practitioner and a skilled group facilitator with a deep commitment to working with individuals and communities to repair connections and integrate collective, intergenerational, individual, and systemic trauma. She founded RECONEKT a space to deeply look how systemic trauma has fragmented us as collective body and ways to heal together. She believes that anti-oppression work begins within one's self and includes addressing all oppressed groups and identities as we work towards liberation of all beings.
