WHY THIS SPACE
We are living through times of rupture: wars, displacements, ecological collapse, rising authoritarianism, fragmented communities, historical violence resurfacing in new forms. The constant withnessing of suffering through screens, the exhaustion of trying to remain present, ethical, and human inside systems that often demand numbness. And yet, very few spaces allow us to speak about the loss and grief of living through these times.
Political grief is not only about governments, elections, or public events, it’s also the grief produced by the losses systems and histories are creating. The grief of rising fascism, borders, mass deportations, genocide, wars, institutional violence, racism, forced migration, femicide, economic precocity, ecological destruction, rising of artificial intelligence etc… It is also the grief of witnessing these realities ant not always knowing where to place what they awaken in us.
This year-long gathering is a monthly communal space for people who feel the weight of political events and collective grief within their bodies and lives, and who wish to grow
WHO IS THIS SPACE DESIGNED FOR?
This space is designed for:
People of all races, ethnicities, classes, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, ages, faiths, and geographical locations who are experiencing the weight of political grief and who are willing to sit in collective witnessing with others.
Those carrying rage, sadness, exhaustion, confusion, numbness or helplessness in response to the times we are living through.
Those affected by systemic violence, fragmentation and collective uncertainty.
Those who longing to grow their capacity to stay present, connected, and in relationship with themselves, the world and others while living through political rupture.
Those who feel the world deeply in their bodies and who no longer wish to carry it alone.
What brings us together is not a shared identity or the same political reality, but a willingness to witness one another’s grief with care and humanity.
WORKSHOP STRUCTURE
This is a year-long political grief circle that gathers one a month, every last Tuesday of the month. Each session will be held live online and will offer a communal space to slow down, reflect, witness and tend to the grief that is present for us individually and collectively in that moment.
Rather than following a rigid curriculum, the circle will remain responsive to the emotional, political, historical, and collective realities unfolding around us and within us throughout the year. Together, we will meet the grief that is alive and asking for attention.
Each gathering may include elements such as:
somatic reflection and grounding practices
grief tending and collective witnessing
ritual
storytelling and shared reflections
silence and contemplative space
guided inquiries and embodiment practices
Participants will also have access to a private online community space, where they can remain connected between meetings, share reflections, ressources and continue being in communal resonance throughout the year.
At different moments during the journey, participants may also receive guided meditations, reflections, or supportive practices designed to accompany and support them between gatherings.
